The three Department of Transportation (DOT) explosives classifications are Class A, Class B, and Class C. Black powder is included in Class A of the DOT explosives classes. Small arms ammunition is include in Class C of the DOT explosives classes. Explosives drivers must have an annual physical examination. To transport explosives off-station, the driver must be 21 years of age. 12-26
