Inspectionwindows, one over each pair of suspension hooks, letyou visually check sear engagement of the suspensionhooks. Before you let go of the weapon or store whenloading, check the inspection windows over thesuspension hooks; the hooks must be locked. If thesuspension hooks aren’t properly engaged by the sear,the inspection window is blank. If the suspension hooksare properly engaged by the sear, you will see ahorizontal black line (fig. 10-12) in the inspectionwindow. The 14-inch suspension hooks allow amaximum weapon/store capacity of 1,500 pounds. The30-inch suspension hooks allow a maximumweapon/store capacity of 3,500 pounds.The dual breech assembly accommodates twoimpulse cartridges. It consists of a cylinder, piston, footejector sleeve, and an ejector foot. After a weapon orstore is loaded, you must adjust the ejector foot flushwith the skin of the weapon or store, and then back it offto the first detent. You must never adjust the ejector footlower than the black scribed line on the foot ejectorsleeve, or you will damage internal components.The mechanical linkage allows the locking orreleasing of the suspension hooks.
