rocket catapult (fig. 6-14). Disconnect theinertia reel ballistic hose quick disconnect usingthe special key and flag assembly.Attach the hoisting sling to the seat andoverhead hoist. Using the hoist, apply upwardpressure on the seat to prevent damage to theseat/rocket during removal of the trunnion bolt.Remove the trunnion bolt and ensure that all seatconnections have been disconnected. Raise theseat with the hoist. As the seat reaches the topof the guide rails, prevent the yaw vane fromdeploying. Caution must be taken to preventinjury to maintenance personnel as the yaw vaneis deployed by a 40-pound spring force. Continueraising the seat until the lower rollers on the seatclear the guide rails. After the yaw vane trip leverhas passed the cam on the outboard guide rail,reset the yaw vane latch.
