explanation of the terms and codes used in the
SCIR system is given in the following paragraphs.
Controlling custodian. The controlling
custodian is responsible for fleet distribution and
management of assets.
Reporting custodian. The reporting custodian
is the activity having primary custody of the
aircraft. The reporting custodian is responsible
for maintenance and readiness reporting on the
Equipment Master Roster (E-00). The
Equipment Master Roster (E-00) is a serialized
listing, by reporting custodian, of all the assets
on hand that require SCIR and/or utilization
reporting. The Equipment Master Roster is
updated and published on a monthly basis by the
DSF. For a complete description of the report,
you should refer to the utilization reports
discussed in this chapter. The E-00 is kept current
by maintenance control personnel.
Inventory codes. Inventory codes define the
reporting requirements and current status of the
inventory reporting system. Table 4-1 lists the
inventory status codes.
IN Material Condition Reporting Status
(MCRS) (inventory code A). The term IN MCRS
means that an aircraft is in the inventory system
and that it requires SCIR documentation. IN
MCRS is the normal status of an aircraft.
