readout command and control switches, and a remote
digital endspeed readout indicator. In addition, the
control console panels contain a wind-speed readout, a
wind-direction
indicator, an
ambient-temperature
readout, a switch to raise or lower the ICCS, a 24-hour
clock, phone jacks, and a phone selector switch.
Monitor Control Console
The monitor control console, shown in figure 4-78,
is used in conjunction with the catapult-officer control
console and central charging panel during catapult
operations. The control console is of wraparound design
and consists of a monitor panel and a lower monitor
panel for each of the two adjacent catapults. Also
included is the monitor wedge panel, consisting of a
24-hour clock. The monitor panel consists of a series of
status and malfunction lights. During normal operation
the green status lights are on. If a malfunction occurs,
the green lights go out and the red lights come on. The
malfunction lights will indicate red only when a
malfunction occurs. A gauge on this panel indicates
